Some fish are nest dwellers, meaning they build and protect a nest where they lay their eggs and care for their young. These fish typically exhibit parental care and are often territorial around their nests. On the other hand, nest scatterers do not build nests and instead release their eggs into the water, where they are left to develop on their own. These fish do not provide any parental care and their eggs are at the mercy of the surrounding environment. **

Based on the description provided, it is likely a wasp nest. Wasp nests are typically made from a paper-like material, while bee nests are usually found in cavities like trees or underground. Additionally, wasps are known to be more aggressive and territorial compared to bees. If the nest is hanging from a tree branch or under a roof, it is more likely to be a wasp nest. **

Wild bees may choose to live in an old hornet's nest because it provides a pre-made structure with multiple chambers for them to build their nests in. The old nest also offers protection from the elements and predators, as well as insulation for the bees' developing brood. The bees will likely modify the nest to suit their needs, such as adding wax and honeycomb to the existing structure. Overall, the old hornet's nest provides a convenient and secure location for wild bees to establish their colony. **

Ants can nest in a variety of places, depending on the species. Common nesting sites include underground in soil, under rocks or logs, in rotting wood, inside walls or insulation of buildings, and even in potted plants. Some ants may also create nests in dry, protected areas like attics or crawl spaces. **

Butterflies do not actually nest like birds do. Instead, they lay their eggs on specific plants that will provide food for their caterpillars once they hatch. These plants are known as host plants and vary depending on the species of butterfly. The caterpillars will then feed on the host plant until they are ready to pupate and transform into butterflies. **

Chaffinches typically build their nests in trees or shrubs, using a variety of materials such as twigs, grass, moss, and feathers. The female chaffinch is primarily responsible for constructing the nest, which is cup-shaped and lined with softer materials. The nest is usually located in a well-hidden spot to protect the eggs and chicks from predators. Chaffinches are known for their skillful nest-building abilities and will often reuse old nests or repair them for the next breeding season. **

Yes, jackdaws are known to be nest robbers. They have been observed stealing eggs and chicks from the nests of other bird species, such as songbirds and pigeons. Jackdaws are opportunistic feeders and will take advantage of any opportunity to obtain food, even if it means raiding the nests of other birds. **

Pigeons are social birds and often nest in colonies, but they can also nest alone. They may choose to build their nests on ledges, rooftops, or other elevated areas where they can have some privacy and protection. However, they are adaptable and can nest in a variety of environments, including urban areas where they may be more likely to nest alone due to limited space and resources. Overall, while pigeons are social birds, they are also capable of nesting alone when necessary. **
